Bandit & his handler have uncovered money, drugs & firearms in their illustrious career working together.
But a large piece of rubber lodged inside Bandit’s intestine threatened to stop him in his tracks. The award-winning police dog was brought to us needing life saving surgery having not kept any food down for several days. An ultrasound confirmed the intestinal obstruction & he was re-hydrated with intravenous fluids before being taken to surgery. The surgery went very well & Bandit is back with his handler ready to get back on the beat.
Robert Hallworth, Head Vet, said: “We are honoured to help all the pets brought into us but did feel especially proud to treat Bandit when he has done so much to help fight crime."
Bandit a former RSPCA Rescue dog & his handler Lee Fairman were awarded The Police & Crime Commissioner Shield in 2019 for their outstanding teamwork.
